Motorcycle Trike Kits

Trikes offer versatility, visibility, and safety

Hitting the open road on a motorcycle is thrilling. When it's just you on the bike, there is literally nothing more exhilarating. But you probably have a special person you would like to bike with. Bringing another person into your biking world can increase your enjoyment of motorcycling.

Most bikes are built for one, two at most, and few have storage capabilities. On trips lasting more than a day, storage becomes important, as touring riders will need to bring supplies with them. Touring bikes are often equipped with rear and saddle bag containers, but too many containers can affect a bike's performance and control.

Full trike or sidecar?

The simple answer is to add another wheel. This can be done with a sidecar or with a trike conversion kit. Motorcycle trike kits let you convert your regular bike into a three-wheel design. A side car is an additional seat that extends to the right of the bike and has its own wheel. It does not usually connect to the rear wheel of the bike and the passenger rides closer to the road.

A full trike conversion significantly alters the back end of the motorcycle. Instead of the drive train powering only one rear wheel, it powers both wheels. The passenger rides up higher, and there are normally two sets of tail lights. Motorcycle trike kits offer lots of storage, stability, and visibility to two riders. Some motorcycle trikes actually have rear seating for up to three others.

Customize your motorcycle trike

There are choices for you if you want to buy a custom motorcycle trike. Kits are available that allow you to add on to a rolling chassis. The engine, seating, rear wheels, paint scheme, and more are all up to you.

Building your own custom piece of machinery from a motorcycle trike kit will be a project you can enjoy with your family for years.
